Dr. Gibson is a Lecturer in International Relations at the University of Southern California, where she teaches international relations theory, international organizations, global environmental politics, and global public health. She earned her Ph.D. in International Studies from the University of Miami in 2011, her M.A. in International Studies from the University of Miami in 2006, and her B.A. in Political Science at the University of Florida in 2003. Her research interests focus on transnational social movements and activism, the politics of climate change, environmental and social justice, and globalization processes. As part of her dissertation research on radical activism against climate change, she conducted participant action field research at a variety of international summits from 2009-2011, including the 2009 and 2011 World Social Forums (Brazil and Senegal) and the 2009 and 2010 United Nations climate change negotiations (Denmark and Mexico).
